Dive into the timeless allure of rock 'n' roll with The Beatles' iconic album, "The Beatles Story TBO - 2222," pressed in the United States during the vibrant era of 1964. This LP, released in November Of 1964, is seen in hindsight as a Christmas cash grab by Capitol. This LP was created after Capitol had recorded the band at the end of August of that year at The Hollywood Bowl with the intention to release a live album for the Christmas season. When those tapes were deemed unsuitable for a number of reasons, Capitol quickly devised this biographical album with narration, excerpts of songs along with actual interview segments. Interestingly, there is a 48 second segment of Twist and Shout that opens side 4 taken from the 1964 Hollywood Bowl recording.
This LP is not as bad as some make it and it's a fun introduction of the band, especially for young fans just learning about the history of the band.
LP jacket is in decent shape with no seam splits and all spine writing intact. Only mild age spotting here and there. LP's are also in decent shape with lots of light sleeve scratches and scuffs but nothing too deep. Plays well with minimal background noise (some light typical static type noise in a few spots and light tics but nothing tragic). Not near mint, but still an enjoyable play.
