Description
The Beatles – The Beatles (White Album)
Apple pressing (-1) numbered sleeve No. 156395.
UK numbered side-opening pressing from the late-1968 / 1969 transition period, when EMI had moved away from top-loading sleeves but was still using original 1968 metalwork.
This copy is notable for having all four sides cut from original first-generation (-1) lacquers:
• Side A: YEX 709-1
• Side B: YEX 710-1
• Side C: YEX 711-1
• Side D: YEX 712-1
As a result, it combines the later side-opening sleeve format with the earliest possible UK stereo cuts, pressed from the same original lacquers used for the first 1968 issues. This places it firmly in the short UK changeover period, before any recuts (-2, -3 etc.) were introduced.
Embossed white sleeve with individual numbering.
Poster not included.
This is not described as a first pressing, but as an early UK transition-period pressing using original 1968 -1 lacquers throughout — a subtle but interesting variant for collectors who appreciate how EMI production evolved in real time rather than a simple “first vs later” distinction.
Please see photos for exact condition, sleeve numbering, labels and matrix details.

• Side-loading sleeve (correct for UK originals)
