THE BEATLES - THE COLLECTION - MOBILE FIDELITY SOUND LABS - ORIGINAL MASTER RECORDINGS - LIMITED EDITION # 14108
Each of the fourteen Original Master Recordings contained in this volume were pressed from a master stamper at the
Victor Company of Japan (JVC) plant in Japan. Every possible quality control measure was taken to insure the most
spectacular sounding and most qualitative record conceivable. Original Master Recordings are the result of exclusive
half-speed mastering technology employed by Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs. This allows twice as much time for the master
disc cutting system to capture every sonic detail, every nuance of sound from the master tape. These pressings are made
on an exclusive compound called Super Vinyl. Super Vinyl gives each Original Master Recording an extraordinarly quiet
playing surface. Each album is contained in the original anti-static, anti-abrasive "rice paper" sleeve. The album and
rice paper sleeve are inserted into a reinforced stiff insert board. The LP, sleeve and stiffener are then inserted into
a custom fabricated album jacket for enhanced protection. These complete album packages are then filed in an injection
molded, high-impact styrene divider rack. This unique inner structure provides permanent protection and a handy catalogue
system for the collection. These are then stored in an elegant library presentation case, to further showcase and display
the Beatles library. Also included with the set is the MSFL GEO-DISC. The GEO-DISC is an ultra precise alignment instrument,
which permits you to easily align your turntable's cartridge to within 3/1000's of an inch accuracy. It will improve the
playback performance of your stereo system to an incredible degree.
I purchased this set in the 1980's from a small record store in Beaumont, Texas. Needless to say, the store no longer
exists. I think that these were only played twice over the last thirty years and that was so that I could record them on tape.
I am not a professional grader, but I will give you my best guess on the condition of all of the enclosed items. I checked
each album and they are all near mint to mint, having only been played twice. The sleeves, stiffener and album jacket are all
in very good to near mint condition. The white cover for the artwork book has some noticable wear, with some very slight/minute
tearing at the staples. The artwork book itseld is in excellent condition. No bent corners or creases. The warranty certificate
is in good to very good condition with a slightly creased corner.The GEO-DISC and it's sleeve are also in excellent condition.
The is some minor wear on the front of the sleeve from contact with the case. The library box has some wear. The hinges and
hasp show some tarnishing and the box has some wear from handling - all minor. I will try to show any issues in the pictures
that I have included.
