The Beatles - The Number Ones - EMI/Parlophone - 1983 - Album & Bonus 3 track EP
The Number Ones is a compilation album of hits by The Beatles released in 1983 by EMI on the Parlophone Record label in Australia (PLAY1024). As The Beatles had 23 number ones in Australia, EMI included a three-track bonus EP (A-980), with the 20-track LP. The album spent one week at the top of the Australian album charts in 1983.
Unique early pressing - the LP label perimeter text contained "The Gramophone Co Ltd", and stated "Made in Australia by E.M.I (Australia) Limited" along the bottom perimeter. Later pressings this bottom text is eliminated and the upper perimeter text is also changed. The EP of the earlier pressings had a large "A" for side 1 with text in the entire label perimeter.
Also included is an original insert of The Beatles albums and cassettes avalible up to the release of The Beatles - The Number Ones.
