Notes : Original first Stereo pressing with 'Sold in UK...' text, '(P) 1968' text in label centres, and 'An E.M.I. Recording' text.
Fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse top-opening gatefold sleeve with visible flipbacks inside. Embossed 'The Beatles' title on the front along with album No. 0517586 in the bottom right corner, plus tiny 'Stereo' text to the top rear of the sleeve. Includes four photograph inserts and large folded poster. Each record is housed in its original black die-cut inner sleeve.
Condition : Both of the records have marking across their surfaces - I am playing through the entire double album now and much of this marking is quite light so the music still shines through along with some crackling and some small ticks and clicks in places. Side 3 also shows a number of heavy scratches as well, but surprisingly they all play through without jumping, but with increased crackling or interference.
The labels show a little wear from use, especially in their centres, plus some light foxing in places.
The gatefold sleeve has yellowed somewhat with age, it is very worn, with lots of corner rubbing, wear and staining across the bottom edge, along with laminate creases around the edges, and wear across the opening edges. Wear down the spine also obscures much of the text. There is some ring wear and also some visible rippling [see photos] plus the odd mark hear and there.
The inner sleeves both show some wear and creasing from use, one has some tearing to the centre and opening edge as well as some splitting on the bottom edge.
The four photo inserts show some minor edge/corner wear, have the odd crease mark here and there and all four have some staining on their lower margins and some light marking to the rear. The poster shows a lot of wear, especially along its folds which in many cases are tearing apart.
