The Beatles double album, known as the "White Album". Top opening 1968 UK stereo pressing. Low numbered sleeve # 0084124. Complete with the two black inner sleeves, poster and the four photographs.

The Garrod and Lofthouse top opening gatefold sleeve has the usual slight yellowing through age and the lamination is split along the spine. There is light ringwear and some creasing of the lamination.

The four glossy photographs are in excellent condition with no pinholes or sellotape residue. The same is true of the poster.

The delicate black inner sleeves are intact with no tears to the die cut label holes.

All four labels are crisp and clean with no writing or notable spindle wear and only the feintist evidence of any 'spidering'.

There are surface marks to the vinyl but none are deep. Being pressed with the heavy duty vinyl that was used in the 1960's very little affects the audio quality of this album. As usual, I have played this double album through prior to listing it and made the following notes:

Side one: a few light 'clicks' at the start and end of "Dear Prudence", at the end of "Glass Onion" and at the very end of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".  Side two: nothing of note whatsoever apart from two very distant 'clicks' about twelve bars into "Julia" and on the final run-out. Side three: Even better than side two !!  It sounds as though it has hardly ever been played. Even the run-ins are virtually silent. A little, hardly discernable, background noise during "Long, Long, Long". Side four: Much the same as the previous side. There is a little, very feint noise during the run-in to "Savoy Truffle", but nothing in the track itself. A litlle distant noise during "Revolution 9". A few light clicks on the run-out.

Obviously there was no sticking or jumping of the stylus anywhere during playing these records. If it was not for the occasional 'click' that I have mentioned I believe the audio quality of this album would be rated as excellent.

The matrix and stampers are: side 1 - YEX709-1 '4' LO / side 2 - YEX710-1 '1' HD / side 3 - YEX711-1 '2' GGD / side 4 - YEX712-1 '1' GR.

A great copy of this highly regarded and collected LP - and a much sought after LOW numbered sleeve.
