Description

An original 1st pressing of the White Album on the UK Apple label from 1968. Matrix 1/1/1/1. Please note all labels hold the 'subject to resale in the UK' statement and two hold the EMI statement and two do not - this is indicative of an early pressing from around the time of release. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original top-loading 'stereo' gatefold cover printed by Garrod & Lofthouse. This copy is numbered "0301911". We have all four original high quality photos and two original black inner sleeves. Please note there is no lyric sheet unfortunately.
Vinyl [Ex/Vg+/Ex-/Ex] In very nice condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks on each side, one of which is just getting feelable. So, please be aware that this is not a spotless copy, it's very good but does show signs of use. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of slight deviations. Intros and inbetweens are reasonably quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is pretty light and infrequent. All we detected was a bit of light static in the odd place. And it is audible in a couple of the songs e.g. Prudence & Blackbird & Honey Pie. Nothing invasive, but I do need to warn you that you will pick it up in these tracks. Other than that it really does play excellent - a very high standard for a bona fide 1st issue.
Cover (Vg+) In great condition and has clearly been cared for down the years. Please note the cover is exhibiting a touch of ageing in one or two places - but this is still well above average. There's a couple of ultra-light indentations on the front and then a tear at the top [the laminate has come away] on the rear - otherwise very very nice condition. It retains all of its original rigidity. Edge wear is reasonably light. And, again, I don't think it's all that easy to find these early examples in this condition.
Photos (Ex+) The quality on these original photos is superb. Proper photo quality paper. Contrast and detail in the shots - superb. No deterioration to the rear either.
Black Inners (Vg/Vg+) One faring better than the other. One has a big seam split.
