Description
An original mono 1st press of THE WHITE ALBUM on UK Apple. Matrix 1/1/1/2. Please note that all labels mention 'Sold In the UK..' and this is indicative of 1st press. In addition, the 1st disc does not exhibit the 'Emi Recording' text - which is the very earliest version possible. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original toploading 1st issue embossed and numbered sleeve [No.0111470]. Also included are both original black inner sleeves, the poster lyric sheet, all four original thicker card photos, and if that weren't good enough....that all elusive Spacer! So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex/Ex/Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Do expect a few light marks each side, and a few superficial trails - nothing heavy/feelable or likely to sound/cause issue. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Ok, so first things first....a lovely clean playback..which is by no means an easy ask with a 1st mono press. And you're really gonna need that on the White Album as many tracks are paired down acoustic...a bit of interference and it's game-over! A great rendition pretty much all the way through - across all four sides - just a few crackles in the occasional isolated spot. And even those paired down acoustic tracks sound sweet - with no background to interfere and irritate the listener. By and large a very high standard with very little to complain at. Don't under estimate this... a 1st mono that plays this clean is a real find. A beautiful rendition by any standard. Please note two labels have sticker damage around the area of the stalk.
Cover (Ex) Very nice looking cover which is only exhibiting light ageing - as is almost obligatory with these original copies. Nice clean front and back with just lightest handling in places. The interior continues this theme with pretty much faultless presentation. Edge wear is very light for an original WA. The spine is very nice too with most of the text seemingly legible - just the usual folding down the centre. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. What a specimen!
Inners (Ex) Only one 1 c.m. side split across all six sides! A small tear at one die-cut centre hole. They're actually very flat and much less creased than you usually find.
Photos (Ex/Ex+) Almost perfect. You can really feel and see the difference with this high quality originals.
Spacer (Ex-) Fully intact. Relatively unaged. A couple of creases.
Lyric Poster (Ex) Way above the usual condition that surfaces. No ageing. No markings. No splits. Nice!
