This is the much sought after First Press, Mono, Top Opening White Album, which is complete, with original poster & photos-card inserts and with the First Press black, dye-cut inner sleeves and with the vinyl on all four sides in really nice condition, with just the odd, tiny surface mark, but otherwise lovely heavy 1968 EMI vinyl!
The Matrices are Side One XEX 709-1, Mother 5, Stampers GL, being 18. Side Two XEX-710-1, Mother 1, Stampers GH, being 17. Side Three XEX 711-1, Mother 3, Stampers GGA, being 113. Side Four XEX 712-1, Mother 4, Stampers AR, being 32.
This First Press has, Sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions, see price lists along the top of the Apple labels and also has An E.M.I. Recording above the 33/1/3 as well as Mft. in U.K. just below.
The White sleeve is Garrod & Lofthouse, fully laminated and with the top opening and is in nice condition, with just the ueusal slight corner wear and spine wear, but the laminate is all intact, otherwise and no damage, with the embossed and raised The Beatles, looking good, with the all important No. 0436080.
The black dye cut inners are still with the discs and so, too, the photo-cards, being of that unique and odd size, on mat white backing, with white borders and no pin holes, or sellotape etc. The poster, too, is without holes or tape marks etc and as usual with these posters has the original folds, where there is some where and whilst there is separation along one fold, it is still attached and just needs tape to fix, but I will leave this to the new owner's discretion, as I simply did not want to do it!
Mono and top opening is the most collectable, and they tend to be the most expensive, hence postage for this being £7.00, which is actually 50p less than I will have to pay Royal Mail, as Ebay only allow Royal Mail up to £7.00 for some reason, but its value means it has to be sent Guaranteed Next Day Before 1.00pm and this is then insured for up to £500.
