The BEATLES WHITE ALBUM ** 1968 FIRST PRESSING (UK)
NO. 0305914 STEREO PCS 7067/8
Overall an excellent plus copy, in great condition for its age!
Top Loader No. 0305914 – Very EARLY stereo cover, stereo cover numbering started at 300,000. ‘STEREO’ printed on the rear, top right hand corner.
All 4 labels, very early examples, without ‘AN EMI RECORDING’ on them.
100% complete with its original components, including the rare PHOTO SPACER
GATEFOLD COVER: Excellent. No marks, stickers or writing. Vivid SPINE, just a minor loss of laminate in a couple of places. Very CLEAN and although not bright white, a lot less faded than many others you will see. No 0305914 clearly numbered on the front with ‘The Beatles’ also clearly embossed. Mild corner wear and ringwear. Inside is superbly bright and clean. Sometimes when you tilt the cover to light you can see it has been used as a writing pad with outline writing visible, this one has nothing of that, totally CLEAR. You will find it hard to find a better 1968 top loading cover than this one, mono or stereo!
POSTER/LYRIC SHEET: A SUPERB example, in its original folds, clean and unmarked.
PORTRAIT PHOTOS: Also SUPERB, could be as new! Can’t see any flaws.
SPACER: This fragile sheet of paper has survived well, just with minor creasing in the corners.
RECORDS- LP Matrices:
YEX 709-1 (1 RO) YEX 710-1 (1 GT)
YEX 711-1 (2 GDM) YEX 712-1 (0 PG)
Both LPs are nice and flat on the turntable, no wobbles or warps. All 4 sides look and sound very similar, confirming to me that these have been together since 1968 and well looked after. Ex+ CLEAN labels with very minor spindle markings when tilted to the light. Lovely vinyl sheen, clean and shiny. Very minor superficial markings. On playback the audio is BRIGHT and CLEAR even in quieter acoustic parts with very occasional clicks. In fact hardly any background noise (apart from the music) at all. These are well-preserved records, easily rated as EXCELLENT.
To complete this awesome package the original BLACK DIE CUT INNERS are also excellent. No rips or tears around the die cut (which is very unusual), just very minor creases. Both records have been kept in alternative inner sleeves to protect the originals.
This really is a very nice copy. A great copy to keep as an upgrade. All components included and in (at least) excellent condition.
