This 1st UK MONO pressing of their iconic double album dates from initial November 1968 release on Apple: PMC 7067/8

All labels omit the 'An EMI Recording' statement which was present on all but the earliest copies.

Labels: NEAR MINT

The fine condition of the labels indicate these discs have been barely played. All are clean & bright with just a handful of light spindle trails around the side 2 centre hole and only 2/3 on others. A section of the side 3 centre hole is slightly raised but this does not affect how the disc lies on the turntable or the sound.

Visual: EXCELLENT +

All playing surfaces are clean and retain all of their factory deep-gloss shine. There are some faint/superficial blemishes visible beneath halogen light but these are the result of contact with the unforgiving matt black inner-sleeves rather than handling wear. Apart from a couple of small faint surface marks on side 4, there is very to little to fault anywhere.

Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +

Both of these little played discs play through without any significant or audible issues.

As with all copies, some low-level vinyl background is audible in some quieter passages. This is entirely due to the pressing and an issued caused from play. Our careful play-check at volume detected just a couple of faint background ticks on 'Savoy Truffle' but no further audible distractions on this well-preserved copy.

Cover: EXCELLENT

A clean and strong cover which aside from minor storagewear is in highly respectable condition.

The cover overall retains an excellent 'whiteness' with no 'thumbnail' wrinkles front or rear or any spine creases.

There are two small/faint age-related marks on the front panel - one is visible in the above image & the other in the lower right corner.

There is also a small mark in the 'S' of the raised wording, but the number is bold and unworn

All of the top-opening edges are clean, sharp and unworn.

Both inside panels are clean & unblemished.

The rear panel is bright & unmarked with just a mild a bump to the lower left.

The spine is fully laminated with just two tiny splits which are visible in the above image.

Both sets of lettering are clean and readable and all seams are smooth & unstressed.
