BACKGROUND: Why a Mono Mix?
By 1968, stereo was becoming the dominant format, but the Beatles still personally supervised their mono mixes, often giving them more attention than the stereo versions. The mono White Album is therefore considered the “artist‑approved” version, with many mix differences unique to this edition.
The album was released in the UK on 22 November 1968 as a double LP on the new Apple label.
This is a true first pressing with the following matrix numbers:

These indicate the very first lacquer cuts used in production.
