Description
I have for sale a large collection of vinyl albums, so please take a look at some of my other auctions for some classic/collectable/vintage albums. There will be something for your parents, grand parents and even great grand parents (yep, seriously, some are that old!!)
As my feedback would suggest, i intend to list each album individually and with an honest and accurate description to the best of my ability. There's music from many genres and dating through the 50's 60's 70's and the 80's. ALL of the records are genuine original albums bought in the years stated, not remastered or reruns made in the 90's 00's or whatever.
The first thing that must be mentioned, and i will go in to greater detail further in each description, is the covers/sleeves. Although in most cases the covers are in a good acceptable condition and are complete and legible, these albums lived there life in a coal mining colliery with open coal/coke fires. So, in a lot of the cases the sleeve will be a little dirty with smoke/nicotine etc. but unless otherwise stated is still in a fairly good condition considering the age of the item! But please take a look at the pictures i have provided and read the extra information below, then if you have any questions and/or concerns please contact me and i will do my best to answer any questions in a timely manner.
So, this particular item is: The Beatles (The White Abum) Serial no: 0033798
Cover condition, quite a bit discoloured (it's white), but still fully legible and intact, a couple of creases to corners. Also has signs of liquid staining to spine side.
Vinyl condition, there are several marks on the disks throughout. However, i have played through on a 20yr old Bush turntable and plays fine with no jumping.
On the Apple EMI label, with serial XEX.709/XEX712 PMC7068 and year 1968.
A couple of people have asked if this is the top loading or side loading sleeve. I can confirm it is the TOP loading version of the sleeve.
My overall opinion of this item, average. Cover is reasonable i guess, being nearly 50 yrs old and the vinyl although it is marked in several places still plays through ok without any noticeable jumping or skipping (only my opinion in grading, i'm not a collector or expert), so i think it's just average.
Just some additional information regarding this record. I was recently asked if the album was mono or stereo, and couldn't answer as there is no information anywhere on the album. However, what i DID find is that it appears to be a first print. This is because there is no additional writing above the 33 1/3 print as the second print onwards did. Also the serial number print is very light as oppose to the darker printing on later releases. Most of the stereo versions had stereo printed towards the top right of the label, but some stereo versions were released without the print. So, if anyone else is wondering, my guess would be that its mono, but could possibly be one of the stereo versions released without stereo being printed on the cover. (Amazin what you can find on google :-) ).
