Description
This is an intact set of the photos and poster/lyric sheet that came with the "White Album" I bought in approximately 1979. I remember selling it in 1987 when, after buying a copy of The Joshua Tree on vinyl that sounded so bad after being played once, I sold all my vinyl in a fit of pique: the quality of vinyl was so poor in those days. But I digress. Somehow I managed to sell it without the extras but what they were doing in a box set of Bob Dylan : The Bootleg Series Volumes 1 - 3 that I bought in the early 1990s is anybody's guess. I think we were moving house at a time when I was still in CD mode and it was the only box big enough to fit the inserts, which I must have kept for sentimental reasons (they don't come with the CD version). In the same box was the poster and postcard from 'Imagine' but I have put these in my remastered copy of the same, which bizarrely came with neither. But I digress again.
I moved back to vinyl in about 2005, since when I have in effect repopulated a substantial chunk of my original vinyl collection, including original pressings of all Fab Four's catalogue in mono apart from the White Album. I've just bought all stereo vinyl remasters from 2009 including the White Album which comes with the inserts - hence the set I have for sale. They are in pretty good condition, and look almost fresh from the box.The poster/lyric sheet is impressive with no tears along the folds, and the glossy photos all look absolutely brand new. There is a minor bend along the white edge of the photo of Ringo (which doesn't photograph at all well) but the gloss surface of all four is pristine. The photo of George is intact - it's the flash from my phone you can see, not a nasty burn - and the mark on John's photo is an illusion - if you look closely you will see it is a reflection of the lyric sheet on John's face!!
