The Beatles – The Beatles (White Album) 1968 stereo double LP Apple PCS 7067/8. With all inserts including spacer.

It was released on the Apple label in 1968 – PCS 7067 + PCS 7068. All of the matrix numbers end in -1. The records have dark green apple labels on the first sides. All four labels are clean with no writing or stickers etc. Side One and Side Two grade as VG+++. Which is another way of saying NEX I guess. Not quite EX but nothing nasty at all to worry about. The second record is not quite so good. Side 4 is also close to EX. The only real fault with the whole set – and which must have annoyed the original owner as much as it has frustrated me – is on side 3. About two thirds of the way through Helter Skelter there is a small scratch. Visually it affects about 25-30 grooves so in theory would mean a problem for around a minute. BUT - I have just played it through a couple of times and I can hear just a handful of very quiet ‘clicks’. It looks worse than it sounds. (And luckily it is in that loud part of Helter Skelter rather than that being on a track like I Will.) So – not quite perfect but the records are still above average.

The main reason I was quite excited to find and buy this example is that the gatefold top-opening cover is in WONDERFUL condition. The number 0342386 is stamped towards the bottom right corner. On the back panel the tiny word Stereo is printed near the top right corner. There are no creases to the cover itself or even in the laminate. It has a lovely sheen to it – not all rubbed like some I have come across. I once had a NM/NM/NM white album that fetched good money and must have had a cover as good as this. But other than that one it is the best I have come across. (Not that I find them every day of course, in any condition, but I have bought and sold around twenty decent White Albums over the years and this cover is notably ‘special’). It has the original black inner-sleeves. One is lovely. The other is not quite ‘tatty’ but has some creasing in the corners and a handful of minor ‘nicks’ although no paper is missing.

The Poster is still here with no rips or scribbles. It is not pristine and perfectly flat as I can see that is must have been opened and looked at over the years. There is very slight stress where the folds / creases meet. The four photographs are perfectly clean and flat. And it also still has the flimsy white paper ‘spacer’.

It is impossible to be an expert in all realms of collecting, and I am honestly representing this item to the best of my knowledge and ability. If the item has a fault then I have mentioned it. I ask that you read the description and examine the photos carefully. I also encourage you to ask any questions you may have during the auction to help clarify identification or condition, as I may inadvertently omit information that you as a collector feel is important.          

 If after you receive the item there is any problem at all please let me know BEFORE leaving feedback or leaving a low Item As Described rating.  If you do not let me know of a problem I have no way of knowing what may have been wrong and I really do want to sort it out.

CONDITION.  The majority of items that I list are between forty and sixty years old.   Some are older and some may be a few years younger.  I have described the condition of the item in my text but where applicable I have also ticked the 'used' box as even where an item is 'perfect', it is very old and logic says it must have been handled and probably used at some time over the decades!

They are not actually free to post of course! I have to pay to post them but for UK bidders the price you see at the end of the auction is the total price you pay. 

DELIVERY TIMES.  Although I have ticked the Royal Mail 2nd Class Standard option, please note that this service is reliable and often is unexpectedly fast.  For the last couple of years I have actually posted lighter items first class, even though 2nd class has been paid for.  Please note that from now on - due to the post office price increases, I will be sending all items 2nd class unless first class has been paid for.

Worldwide Postage / Shipping. 

Upate - May 2012 - the new much-increased Royal Mail Air Mail rates have come into effect.  After absorbing the costs for the last two  years - this rise is so huge that I am having to increase my prices.   Many apologies for this.    I really am trying to keep the prices as low as possible.

TRACKING NUMBER.    If an item sells for more than £35, (or for a package that has a total value of more than £35) it will need to be sent with a Tracking Number - the Royal Mail's International Signed For service.  This costs an additional £5 and that price will be added so that both you - the Buyer - and myself are covered under the buyer protection policy.

PACKAGING.    Please note that all of my items are well-packed in thick card or in boxes, and then wrapped in good quality brown paper.   I do not make any separate charge for packaging materials - everything is included in the final price. Many of my feedback comments mention my good packaging and I will of course continue to meet my own standards.

UK WINNERS - I still accept and am very happy to receive cheques and postal orders as payment methods, as well as PayPal.
