Description

An original 1st mono press of YS on the Apple label. Matrix 1/1. Please note the labels are consistent with very 1st press and mention 'Sold In The UK..'. The heavy-duty vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue mono sleeve without printers credit, and with red-ines - this is believed to be the very 1st variant. Also included is the original black inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-) In very nice condition and doesn't look to have been over used or abused. Under close inspection there are a few light marks, and one semi-feelable mark in the track Yellow Submarine. I have thoroughly tested this track - there is very little evidence of the mark whatsoever, just a couple of minor ticks. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. YS is a very fussy album and I'm pleased to report this genuine 1st carries off the sound with aplomb. Interference is both minor and infrequent. All I could detect was a touch of static in a couple of the lower-key passages per side. Nothing invasive...these parts just won't play quite as clean as the rest of the LP. The one deviation is a couple of minor ticks in track 1...which most folk should easily be able to live with at this price. A great all round rendition from this very sought after mono 1st. please note the side 1 label has a black mark showing.
Cover (Vg) A very nicely preserved front with just light tanning. The rear has avoided the worst of the ageing process, but still exhibits tanning. Please note there's a signature on one of the red-lines and there's also a relatively small tear at the opening toward the top which has been repaired internally. Edge wear is relatively light and the text on the spine is fully intact. A few stress creases on the spine, but in otherwise very nice condition. Overall the cover still retains verygood rigidity.
Inner (Vg) one side has split right down the edge. I have tape repaired it.
