The Beatles - Yesterday & Today
Third State Original Butcher Cover
This is an original 1966 example of a third state "Butcher" sleeve. I.e. it is an original Butcher Cover that was returned, re-wrapped with the replacement (less controversial) cover, then had the wrapping removed to reveal the original Butcher Cover.
The cover is in good condition with some age related marks as shown in the photos.
There is some damage to the original photo that is the result of the peeling. There is no damage that is not the direct result of the peeling of the wrap.
The vinyl record is original and in good condition. There are some very shallow marks (not surprisingly for its age) but it plays absolutely fine.
The inner sleeve is plain white, slightly discoloured after nearly 60 years. I’m not sure if the inner sleeve is original but it is the correct age.
I’m including a replica letter that was issued by Capitol Records, requesting the LP record to be returned due to the controversial photo.
