Up for bids is The Beatles Yesterday And Today "Butcher Cover" LP Album. Cover has split bottom seam and partially split side seam. Otherwise normal wear. Vinyl is very nice and sounds good with no problems. This album is from the estate of a long time Beatles collector so information on the background of this album is somewhat speculative. It was originally thought to have been a "tear off" version of the album whereby the replacement cover was glued on the original cover to lessen the furor of controversy and then torn back off to expose the original cover. However, included with the album was a letter from Capitol Records Distributing Corp. indicating that the addressee may have received an advance promotional copy of the album and are asked to return it if possible and that a new copy with the new cover will be forwarded as soon as possible. If this was an advanced promotional copy it does not indicate it anywhere on the cover or the vinyl. If it is a "tear off" somewhat did a stellar job of removing the replacement cover. So, I am not sure if this is a "tear off" or if it is truly an advance copy that never had the replacement cover on it. The front cover appears to be textured. Otherwise this is a Capitol Records release, ST 2553, Stereo, released in 1966. The letter from Capitol records will be included with the album. U. S. sales only, please. Pay Pal preferred.
