25 years ago, this impoverished Beatles fan wanted, but had no chance of ever affording, a Butcher Cover copy of Yesterday and Today. This was my solution - buy a copy of the more common Trunk Cover of the LP and a repro slick of the Butcher cover (which, at the time, were commonly available at record fairs.)
The slick has been under the shrinkwrapping from that day to this, when I removed it to take the attached photographs. It fools nobody, but at the time it was the next best thing to a real one.
With regard to condition, the Trunk Cover is F at best. The spine had totally split when I bought it, which is why it was in plastic in the first place. The disc, on the other hand, is in extremely good condition, VG+ (some dealers might class it EX.) The pressing is an original stereo rainbow label pressing.
The slick is practically like new.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A GENUINE BUTCHER COVER. This should be obvious enough from the photographs, but I don't want to attract complaints for selling something under false pretences. Yes, it's a genuine record, and the trunk cover is genuine. The slick is a reproduction.
