Description
Up for auction are TWO copies of “Yesterday andToday” (both T-2553). The first is aSECOND state Butcher Cover, while the second is a THIRD state Butchercover. Neither are in particularly GREATcondition, but would be great forsomeone who has always wanted one but didn’t want to pay the crazy askingprice, or could never make up their mind as to if they wanted a Second state ora Third state.
The Second State- The front cover has water damage at the bottom, and part of BOTH covershave been torn off (see picture). Thismeasures approx. 6 inches long and between 2-3 inches wide. The back cover has similar water damage atthe bottom. A small portion of the upperright hand corner has been peeled back, showing the butcher slickunderneath. Ringo’s collar is easilyvisible, but I had a difficult time catching it with the camera.
There is a three inch split at the top, and an 8inch split at the bottom.
There is a “6” on the back cover next to the RIAA symbol.
The vinyl album comes in its original orange Capitol’66 sleeve, and has light scratches, yet played fine when I tested it.
The Third State- Rough shape, but still a joy to look at. Whoever peeled this didn’t do avery good job, and the Butcher slick has several tears in it (see pic). Allseams are split except for a 4 or 5 inch section at the top that is holding theentire thing together. Someone usedscotch tape to try and hold it together, and pieces still remain. Back coverhas some writing on it.
Also has a number “6” next to the RIAA symbol, andalso comes with the original orange Capitol ’66 sleeve.
Lots of scratches on the vinyl.
As an extra BONUS, I will also throw in a FOURTHstate mono copy of “Yesterday and Today” (non-butcher). All the seams areintact. Little bit of ring wear. Vinyl has lots of scratches, but cover is ingood shape.
