In this auction: 

·       “YESTERDAY AND TODAY” LP by THE BEATLES  

·       This LP is Capitol Records ST 2553.

·       This LP was issued June 20, 1966.

·       This LP is a STEREO LP which is designated by the letter “ST” that precedes the catalog number on both the cover and the labels.

·       This is, of course, the second cover for the “Yesterday and Today” LP that replaced the cover known as “the Butcher Cover”. (This is NOT a paste-over or “second state” Butcher Cover.)

·       The COVER is in STRONG VG CONDITION. It has some light to moderate  “aging” (light “foxing”) of the primarily white slicks mostly near edges. There is some light wear on the 2 corners at the opening. The seams and spine are fine; there is NO cracking. There are NO seam splits, NO writing, NO ring wear, and NO tears on this cover.

·       This PRIMARILY WHITE COVER has always been very prone to show even the slightest bit of wear or soiling. It’s become a difficult cover to find in CLEAN and WHITE CONDITION.    

·       The VINYL is in STRONG VG CONDITION. There are a number of very light surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feel-able” and the vinyl has lots of gloss. 

·       The VINYL was pressed in Capitol Records’ Jacksonville, Illinois Pressing Plant. This is indicated by the “0” in the trail-off wax.

·       The COVER is ALSO from the Jacksonville Pressing Plant based on the number “4” printed at the lower right corner on the rear cover.

·       Therefore, this #4 Jacksonville cover and Jacksonville vinyl are correctly paired/matched.

·       NOTE: Some sellers may intentionally or accidentally switch vinyl and covers in order to create an LP with a higher grade cover and vinyl combination, but NOT correctly matched to the same pressing plant. I don’t do that. This is the correct cover paired with the correct vinyl for this pressing/issue.

·       This LP comes with its ORIGINAL ORANGE CAPITOL INNER SLEEVE that was issued with first STEREO pressings of both “Butcher” and “Trunk” covers of this Beatles’ LP title.

It’s a VERY NICE VG COPY of this Beatles’ “Trunk Cover” to add to your vinyl collection!
