In this auction:

• “YESTERDAY AND TODAY” LP by THE BEATLES

• This LP is Capitol Records ST 2553.

• This LP was issued June 20, 1966.

• This LP is a STEREO LP which is designated by the letter “ST” that precedes the catalog number on both the cover and the labels.

• This is, of course, the second cover for the “Yesterday and Today” LP that replaced the cover known as “the Butcher Cover”. (This is NOT a paste-over or “second state” Butcher Cover.)

• The COVER is in VERY STRONG VG CONDITION. There is some light to moderate overall wear mostly in the form of aging/”foxing”, more on the rear slick than the front slick. There is light wear on two corners and more wear on a third corner which is “bald” at the bottom of the opening. There are also a few very small light stains on the rear cover (please refer to images) and a little bit of light flaking on the top seam. There are NO SEAM SPLITS, NO WRITING, NO TEARS and NO RING WEAR on this cover.

• This PRIMARILY WHITE COVER has always been very prone to show even the slightest bit of soiling and/or wear. It’s become a difficult cover to find in CLEAN and WHITE CONDITION without wear, staining, or soiling.

• The VINYL is in VG CONDITION with a number of very light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs (none are “feelable”). The vinyl has LOTS of GLOSS.

• The COVER, constructed of cardboard with cover slicks pasted on, was issued from Capitol Records’ Los Angeles Pressing Plant based on the number “5” printed at the lower right corner of the rear cover.

• The VINYL has an asterisk (*) in the trail-off. This is the symbol Capitol Records used to identify vinyl pressed at its Los Angeles Pressing Plant.

• Therefore, this Los Angeles cover and Los Angeles vinyl are correctly matched/paired.

• NOTE: Some sellers may intentionally or accidentally switch vinyl and covers in order to create an LP with a nicer grade cover and vinyl combination, but NOT correctly matched to the same pressing plant. I don’t do that. This is the correct cover and vinyl for this pressing/issue.

• Original pressings of this LP were issued with the vinyl inside an ORANGE CAPITOL INNER SLEEVE which is also included.
