THE BEATLES - 'YESTERDAY'
1966 UK *1st PRESSING* EP
This hard to find 1st pressing is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: GEP 8948
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text & have 'Gramophone Co. Ltd..' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code is present in the side 2 label centre & in both run-outs.
Housed in a front laminated, rounded-flipback printed picture cover.
Matrix numbers: 7TCE 894-1 & 7TCE 895-1
Stamper codes: 2/GL & 2/GT
CONDITION
Labels: EXCELLENT +
A very fine set with less than a handful of light spindle trails to each label.
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Clean, deep-gloss surfaces which bear some light hairline scratches in strong daylight consistent with a small amount of play. Close inspection derectly beneath halogen light reveals no further significant marks or wear.
Play: EXCELLENT
Aside from the unavoidble light background during 'Yesterday' there are is no significant deterioration to the sound quality or any major faults throughout this well looked-after copy.
Cover
VERY GOOD +
A very respectable exapple of this rare and easily blemished cover with a single light crease towards the upper left corner & some minor handling & storagwear, but no major faults.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
- I carefully play every record I sell on a $5,000 Rega P9 turntable at volume and list all visual and audible faults.
