Description

This was my mom's "Yesterday and Today" album she purchased in 1966.  In 1988, my college roommate told me about the history of this album and the "Butcher Cover."  I brought the album back to school and we used steam from a pot of water on the stove to remove the "Trunk" sticker.  At the time I was only interested in the discovery and wasn't considering its value.  Since then, it's been in a plastic sleeve.  I learned later that I should've removed the record from the cover so that the sides would stay intact.  As you can see from the photos, the cover eventually split on all sides.  The pictures are indicative of the condition.
The original record is included as you can tell by the handwritten numbers and letters on the vinyl.  Subsequent "Yesterday and Today" records were machine imprinted.  If you'd like me to include an additional "Yesterday and Today" record for playing, I have one from a 4th state that I purchased at an estate sale, thinking it was a 2nd state:  this way you can keep my mom's copy together and hopefully better protected for the future.
Also included is "The Beatles' Second Album" (Mono) which is a 4th pressing misprint.  The following is unique to this album:

  • Mislabeled "Long Tall Sally" and "I Call Your Name" - no run times.
  • Initial label with ASCAP for "I Call Your Name" - Later changed to BMI.
  • RIAA label with no pressing plant number.
  • Glossy Black Rainbow Label.
Finally, I'm including the following Beatles albums:
  • "Meet the Beatles" - Stereo
  • "Beatles IV" - Mono
  • "Beatles '65" - Mono
