The Beatles Yesterday and Today Butcher Cover Stereo

Ultra Rare End of Production Run Pink Inside

This no reserve auction is for The Beatles Yesterday and Today Stereo ST 2553 Second State Butcher Cover RIAA 5.

This particular Butcher cover is ultra rare because of the pink inside of the album cover.  These covers were printed on large rolls of chipboard material on in-line presses.  Each huge roll of chipboard stock would create thousands of album covers.  The normal color of the chipboard is grey.  At the very end of each roll of stock the chipboard was tinted pink to warn the press operator that the roll was nearing the end.  As the new roll was added to the press these pink ones left in the press were suppose to be thrown away.  In my 25 years of collecting Beatles records this is only the second album cover I have seen with a pink inside . . . but I have never seen a stereo butcher like this!

The front cover is in great condition.  No writing, little wear, very clean, one 3" seam split, the corners are worn and chewed up a little (see photos).  Ringo's V Neck is clearly visible.  The paste over was put on crooked too.  You can see the original cover in the lower left corner.

The back cover shows some signs of wear.  The LP comes with the original sleeve.  The vinyl itself is VG+ condition.

One of the nicest stereo butchers . . . and by far one of the rarest.

Thank you.

Note:  I always have RARE Beatles items listed.
