Description

"Yesterday" and Today saw the release of all the remaining tracks from the previous two British releases not included on their American counterparts: Help! ("Act Naturally" and "Yesterday", earlier issued by Capitol as a single) and Rubber Soul ("Nowhere Man" and "What Goes On", also earlier issued by Capitol as a single, plus "Drive My Car" and "If I Needed Someone"). The recent single "Day Tripper" / "We Can Work It Out" was also included, as were three tracks from the upcoming LP Revolver: "I'm Only Sleeping", "Doctor Robert", and "And Your Bird Can Sing", issued here in preliminary mixes. The hodgepodge nature in which Capitol records compiled their albums irritated the Beatles, who felt they had "put a lot of work into the sequencing" of the British versions.[4] Interestingly, Revolver and "Yesterday" and Today would be the last examples of this practice. Apart from the butcher cover, "Yesterday" and Today album is of interest to collectors for the appearance of unique mixes of Revolver-era tracks unavailable elsewhere. This album is in very good condition and a must for any Beatles collector. However, it has not been listened to in years and may need to be cleaned.
