This LP was released by Vee Jay Records in February of 1964 in a last ditch attempt to capitalize on the unprecedened & sudden popularity of The Beatles before the label lost the rights to the early Beatles material in October of 1964. The misleadingly titled LP "On Stage" was also an attempt to introduce Frank Ifield, and English pop singer who was very popular in the UK but virtually unknown in the US, to American audiences.Although top billed, there are only 4 Beatle tracks on this LP as compared to Ifield's 8 and all of the material is previously released studio tracks from other Vee Jay releases not live material. This is the original version of the LP, however it was reissued a mere days before the end of Vee Jay's lease with a different cover. Very few of the second version of this LP hit the streets and consequently is far rarer than this original, although being that this LP sold poorly even this version is quite hard to come by.
