- Up for sale is this RARE original factory pre-recorded 4 track stereo reel to reel tapes 2 volume set of " The Beatles" released on Ampex Tapes in late 1969 in The United States. This is the only official released that contains edits of songs due to the 'Paul Is Dead' rumors circulating on U.S. radio stations in late 1969. There are edits on 7 songs plus 'Can You take Me Back' is completely omitted after 'Cry Baby Cry'. Here are the list of edited songs. #1 'Dear Prudence' shortened from 3.55 to 2.41 #2 'Glass Onion' shortened from 2.17 to 1.44 #3 'Don't Pass Me By' shortened from 3.50 to 2.48 #4 'Why Don't We Do It In The Road' shortened from 1.41 to 1.10 #5 'Yer Blues' shortened from 3.58 to 2.41 #6 "Helter Skelter' shortened from 4.27 to 3.41 & #7 'Revolution #9' shortened from 8.16 to 3.42. The tape plays at 7 1/2 IPS and sounds amazing & complete on my Akai player with no drop outs & plenty of leader tape on all 4 sides. Both original reel boxes are in excellent condition with no corner splits or edge wear with just slight rub wear to the back & front slicks. Both factory reels & labels are also in excellent condition. Both labels contain the shortened total times. These reels were be double boxed for protection through shipment. Thanks Frank
