A Hard Day's Night is the third studio album by English rock band The Beatles, released on 10 July 1964, with side one containing songs from the soundtrack to their film A Hard Day's Night. The American version of the album was released two weeks earlier, on 26 June 1964 by United Artists Records, with a different track listing.

In contrast to their first two albums, all 13 tracks on A Hard Day's Night were written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney showcasing the development of their songwriting talents. The album contains some of their most famous songs, including the title track, with its distinct, instantly recognisable opening chord, and the previously-released "Can't Buy Me Love"; both were transatlantic number-one singles for the band.

This is 1st press stereo rare variation B which has the slender type and dots after PCS ie "PCS. 3058" and a comma after YEX ie "YEX,126". This slender type variation is rarely seen as the chubby type 1st stereo is much more common. However even the chubby type isn't ubiquitous as mono lps were produced in far greater numbers than stereo in 1964.

A Hard Day's Night vinyl lp. Vinyl is Side 1 Very Good / Side 2 Excellent-. The vinyl is quite glossy with a number of surface marks. On Side 1 there are rhythmical pops, mostly reasonably light, over most of 'And I Love Her' and the other 6 tracks on this side play to an Excellent grade. On Side 2 there is some crackle for three revolutions on 'Any Time At All' and the other 6 tracks on this side play to an Excellent grade. This excellent grade means the music is clear with little crackle which is most notable between tracks but there will be the occasional adhoc light pop.

Garrod & Lofthouse flipback Sleeve is Good+. There is a 2cm tear by the (frayed) opening. There are also frayed corners and one is split. Some creasing. No spine splits. The inner is a plain white polylined Patent Pending paper inner sleeve.

Summary:- Rare 1st stereo variant which plays well for most of the 14 tracks and 30 minutes.

This has been cleaned on a Okki Nokki RCM FREE for the buyer.

Grading system used:-


Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.


Near Mint (NM) The record looks brand new with no scuffing or any deterioration in sound quality and only the smallest hint that its ever been played. The cover and any additional extras are clean, crisp and with no wear whatsoever.


Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.


Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.


Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.


Fair (F) The record is still just about playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or
defaced.


Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
