1. First pressing. November 22, 1963. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Parlophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter print and “Recording first published 1963?. “Jobete” publishing credit for “Money” (Side 2). Polythene-liner “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve. First pressing has misspeled “You Really Gotta Hold On Me” credit on the Side 2. With or without KT tax code on the label. Matrix numbers: Side 1: XEX 447-1N; Side 2: XEX 448-1N.

This 1st pressing from 1963 has the jobete error and Gotta errors on the labels. It is rarer than most 1st pressings as it has the Ernest J Day sleeve which also has the Gotta error on the rear of the sleeve. Also I believe the front of the sleeve is the darker grainier version as I have compared it against another mono sleeve I have - see last photo. This lp's sleeve is at the bottom.

This record has been cleaned on a Okki Nokki RCM and test played in full to be graded. 

MT tax code is on Side 1.

With The Beatles vinyl lp. Vinyl is Very Good+. The vinyl is quite glossy with a number of surface marks especially on Side 2. On Side 1 there are some random pops but mostly over 'It Won't Be Long' and some light background crackle over 'Till There Was You'. On Side 2 there are again some random pops including two louder ones at the end of 'Hold Me Tight'. There is little background crackle on Side 2. 

Ernest J Day laminated flipback Sleeve is Good. It is graded Good as someone has attempted to scratch some glasses onto John Lennon! Otherwise there is some creasing on edges and over a couple of corners and tiny rips along the flipbacks. There is a clean fully legible spine. Inner sleeve is a polylined Emitex paper inner; the polylining is a bit loose at the top. 

Summary:- Rare 1st pressing in listenable but below excellent audio.

This has been cleaned on a Okki Nokki RCM FREE for the buyer. 

Grading system used:-


Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.


Near Mint (NM) The record looks brand new with no scuffing or any deterioration in sound quality and only the smallest hint that its ever been played. The cover and any additional extras are clean, crisp and with no wear whatsoever.


Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.


Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.


Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.


Fair (F) The record is still just about playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or
defaced.


Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
