Description
This is a near mint pressing of the MFSL edition of The Beatles Abbey Road LP released in 1980. This audiophile LP was recorded at half speed on virgin vinyl that is opaque (light passes through the vinyl) at half speed by JVC (Japan Victor Company). Also included are the original plastic audiophile quality record sleeve and the protective promotional cardboard sleeve in which LP sits.
As to grading, I grade very conservatively following Goldmine Record grading standard. Except that for records that are a notch below near mint, rather than VG ++, I prefer to use grade of Excellent. I do not use VG++ grade in addition to Excellent grade as is done by some.
The LP is in near mint condition with no visible marks on the vinyl. The LP was tested through headphones after manual cleaning plays beautifully and quietly. As the LP was tested several weeks before listing it should, of course, be cleaned again before play. The cover is in very good condition. The corners of the gatefold cover at all points are very slightly worn or dinged. The corner near bottom at spine shows slight flaking and beginning to split. The top seam is strong with slight rub wear/loss of color. The spine above the one inch area at bottom corner is strong is still strong but slightly yellowing but with no other flaking or splits. For the most part the product information on spine is still readable there is some wear. The front and back of the cover are relatively clean and show some spotting on both sides. There are also creases at the spine near bottom front of cover, at the top corner near the mouth and back bottom corner at mouth.
The LP is being sold without reserve and payment is expected within 3 days of auction close. Return of the LP will only be accepted if the same LP sold and shipped is returned in the same condition .Buyers that behave in a less than ethical manner in the course of the transaction will be reported and blocked from participation in future auctions. The LP will be separated from the cover when shipped to prevent seam splitting.
