OK people, here is one of my really collectable records which I've owned since 1982 when it was first released. The number is 2964/5000. Let me confirm the exact descriptors of each item, all the various paper and cardboard items are present and correct as you can see from my photos above, yes that is my hand !! The vinyl record is Excellent, why ? well there are a total of 6 micro pops through out the record. It has been professionally cleaned but there might still be some static residing in the plastic vinyl compound ? The micro pops which last for literally less than a micro second are to found on the following tracks ;- Lucy - 1 in 1st verse, She's Leaving Home - 1 after the word " hankerchief", Benefit - 2 in 1st verse, Day in the Life - 2 in final fade out big E piano chord going into side 2 fade out. The outer textured container has a small tear at the rear top left hand corner- see photo, the actual record sleeve has a 1 inch seam split at the top, again as shown on the photos. So I would class the sleeve etc, in totality, as VG+. Obviously I have just given the album a complete test play listening to every song from start to finish and my observations are as presented above, that's the negative viewpoint. Now the positives, well the soundstage is massive, played on my Rega P7 with 3 month old Rega Anya MC cartridge via two Arcam power amps into B and W 703 floorstanders. The record has a wonderfully dynamic sound with the usual 60s stereo mix and McCartney's bass sounds superb. The guitars can surprise you when they appear, the drums are very realistic. These sets do not appear very often and I am pricing it according to its overall condition versus identical condition sets on Discogs, where you will be paying way more money than I am listing it as. This is a piece of music recording history. No returns allowed- you know if you want to own this record or not, surely ?
