Description
I have for sale a first pressing of the The Bends by Radiohead. This copy does NOT have the pixelated 0% present on the inner sleeve which would indicate it is an early first pressing and very rare. The label also contains a red £ symbol between the words "trade" and mark". Both of these can be seen on the photos above.
The pressed and etched writing on the runout of each side is as follows (A side and B side respectively):

According to discogs a first pressing of this album can be itentified as follows:

The very 1st UK pressing - with NO Large pixelated 0% in lower left corner of b/w side of inner sleeve. All later copies had this added to the inner - including 2 matrix re-pressings. So techincally any copy with the '0%' on the inner is a re-press and not a 1st Pressing as obviously it was added at a later date!
This version has a red pound symbol in the black circle on labels (on left, between TRADE and MARK)
Matrix number stampings end in -1
Matrix numbers stamped except the text in capital letters which is etched"
Everything on this copy for sale agrees with the above text.
The outer sleeve quality is good with no splits, fading, large creases and large areas of damage. The corners/edges do show signs of wear and there is a small crease along with some sticker residue in the top right hand corner(2nd photo). This can all be seen in the photos. The sleeve still contains its artistic nature and overall is a pleasure to look at.
The Inner sleeve is great quality with no splits, creases, ring wear and only the tiniest corner/edge wear, again this can be seen in the photos. There is, however, a small mark in the bottom right hand corner of the inner sleeve, this feels like sticker residue, I have highlighted this in the 11th photo. Again, this is a pleasure to look at and, apart from the mentioned mark, the artwork and lyrics are crystal clear and not hindered in any way.
The record itself is a solid VG quality and better in some parts. There are no skips, loops and only a handful of significant scratches , all of which are purely cosmetic and have no effect on the sound.
The record shows obvious signs of being played a fair bit in the past and some light crackling and small pops are present in the intro/outro of some songs and the quieter parts of the record. This does not take anything away from the listening experience and the music is still very clear and lovely to listen to with no distortion. It is worth noting, that I have not cleaned this record as I do not have the equipment nor expertise to do it, so if cleaned properly, there is a good chance the record will sound even better than described above.
