   For sale is All-Time Favorite Folksongs sung by America's Favorite Folk Singers, originally released in 1973 by Vanguard Records in cooperation with Columbia House in a double album set. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers 1-A/1-A/1-A/1-A, indicating that the first stampers were used to make these first editions. These hallmarks are sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound quality. Combined with the fact that Vanguard records are known for their state-of-the-art engineering, make this a remarkable sounding set. I bought this record set used, professionally cleaned them on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put the records into two MFSL archival inner sleeves. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve or insert with this listing. The cover is graded as Excellent because of corner blunts and two creases around the lower corners. The spine is Near Mint. The vinyl is visually graded as VG+ because of faint sleeve marks and some minor surface scratches. I'm play grading it as Excellent because of occasional pops and very low level surface noise, most noticeable during the quiet sections. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I've owned it and still has a lot of life yet. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection. Because of the scarcity of this album set, you would be hard pressed to find one like this beautiful first edition.
