'The Trapp Family Singers were an internationally respected classical choral group for years. But they didn't achieve household name status until their story was told by Rodgers and Hammerstein in the hit musical and movie The Sound of Music. And by the time that musical debuted, the Trapps had already retired; their last live performance was in 1955. This two-record set was intended to capitalize on the success of the musical.  It demonstrates the breadth of the Trapps' repertoire, ranging from classical material such as "In Einem Kuhlen Grunde," "Puer Natus Est Nobis" and Mozart's "Ave Maria" to folk songs from Austria, Sweden, Germany, Poland, England, Australia, France, Russia, Hawaii and Texas. It also includes several Christmas carols.'
