Up for auction is a rare garage rock 45 rpm record of The Big Beats in the Tonka Records label from Grottoes, VA. From some online research, I’ve determined this was recorded in 1966. Visually graded, I would grade this record as VG+, with minor light scratches (on side 1, there are a few faint scratches that look like someone might’ve very lightly scratched some letters onto the record - hard to see unless you look very closely under bright light (see photo)- doesn’t affect playability) and a few light scuffs, no warps, and nice glossy surfaces. The label has light wear, no markings, and a few very small scuffs. See photos for a good representation of the condition and judge for yourself. Audibly graded, the record has some minor pops on the intro and outro, clean/clear when music starts with an occasional light pop (not distracting), no skips or jumps, a pleasant listening experience. This is a nice example of a hard-to-find, 1960’s garage rock 45 and would make an excellent addition to any collection. Good luck and thanks for bidding!
