COMMENTS The Vinyl still has a lot of shine but it has lots of hairlines and I have ran my fingernail over them and they are not deep but I can see only one small swallow scratch on the run in on side 2.
The Labels are in great condition, with normal amount of wear for a record this old.
I have found a sleeve which is correct for the era and is in excellent condition.
I have played it and it plays with some soft crackle and a couple of soft clicks. The one real scratch I can find is on the run in side 2 has a soft click but because it’s on the run in does not affect the play. However it does play a lot better than it looks and is very acceptable to listen to.
The birds this is quite a rare record someone described it as chickens teeth (as in as rare as). It surprised me as it is a really great sounding record, a sort of cross between the Stones, the Small Faces, Zombies and the Animals. Although the record is used it is not by any means wrecked.   What I will say is remember it is a used record and by no stretch of the imagination Mint condition. I would think because of its rarity it will fetch a good price in auction please do not go over the top its not new.  I think I know what it is worth but let’s see what others think.

I've been dealing and collecting records for over 40 years and know only too well how frustrating it can be to receive a record through the post that's been over-graded.  In the UK, the accepted record grading system is the Record Collector magazine guide which can be found at the back of every issue of the mag (which is on sale monthly). This is the guide I use when selling vinyl and is reproduced below; from this you can see that EX and VG should still be totally acceptable to listen to and even Good shouldn't mean completely Bad! If Mint is what you want then a record described as Mint should be indistinguishable from brand new; the older the record, the harder it'll be to find. There are a lot less Mint records than many people would have you believe, and terms like 'minty' and 'awesome' or a string of exclamation marks don't really mean anything in terms of condition. Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:     "MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.     EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.     VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.     As well as the above grades, Near Mint is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them.
