The Blasters American Music ROLLIN' ROCK SEALED LP Dave Phil Alvin Rockabilly
(I JUST DROPPED THE PRICE-FOR THE ONLY TIME-ON THIS SEALED, RARE GEM.) The most collectible Blasters/Dave Alvin/Phil Alvin vinyl in existence. There are lots of very cool Blasters items that are collectible but this is the crowning jewel of any Blasters collection. An original pressing with validating numbers/information on the spine and back cover from 1980 on Rockin' Ronny Weiser's Rollin' Rock label, #LP021. The ONLY flaw is a bend in the upper left hand corner, which may or may not be visible in the jpegs. But it's perfect otherwise, a 32 year old sealed gem that's been out of print nearly that long. I had a chat with Dave a couple of years ago about this one (that's how I learned how to distinguish a legit copy from a counterfeit), about the numbers pressed/circulated. He believes that about 2,000 were pressed and maybe 1800 of them ended up in stores/for sale to the general public. Dave knows his stuff about collectible music, and there are different numbers floating around out there, I trust his statements. Anyway, this is The Blasters in their early glory, recorded as they should be heard by Rockin' Ronny Weiser. Raw, tight, and hard driving, 20-25 years earlier this one could have easily ended up on Sun Records. Here is your opportunity to own a true piece of rock and roll history, as The Blasters were one of three or four bands to define the sound that made the LA music scene the best in the day, and what it still is today. I am 99% certain this one was bought in 1980 at either Zia Records or Roads To Moscow in Tempe AZ. I have a copy that I've used for listening since then, and came across this one in a box of records from that era just this morning. It only makes since when and where I picked this one up, shortly after my first ever Blasters show, which is when I knew this was no ordinary band, and I've never wavered on that thought.
Compare the prices on ebay to this one and you'll see this is the ONLY one you need to consider! A copy of this lp, opened with a split seam sold a couple of months ago on ebay for $120!
