The Blues LP Various Artists (Columbia 33SX1417 Mono UK 1962) NM/NM
On Columbia (Cat: 33SX1417) UK Mono Vinyl LP released in 1962, featuring the following artists: Jimmy Reed, John Lee Hooker, Memphis Slim, Elmore James, Jimmy Witherspoon, JB Lenoir, Priscilla Bowman, Roscoe Gordon, Gene Allison, Billy Boy Arnold, Harold Burrage.
The record was play-graded & plays like new with no clicks or crackles, and no jumping or sticking. A perfect record easily graded NEAR MINT. The cover is in exceptional condition, and like the record it is easily graded NEAR MINT. See my descriptions below.
The record labels are clean with no writing or other blemishes, & visually the record looks in top condition. The record was play-graded & plays with no sound problems at all – no background noise, no clicks or crackles, and no jumping or sticking. A perfect record easily graded NEAR MINT.
The Garrod & Lofthouse flip-back cover has a laminated front & matt rear. Defying its age, this cover is very close to the condition when first purchased. The front is as near perfection as it gets – I had to really look hard to find anything wrong – just two thin short hairline creases at the spine, and very little wear at all on the lower edge. The spine and other edges are free from wear, and all corners look sharp (merely a hint of wear). The rear is also in almost pristine condition, with no writing, no sticker marks or other blemishes, and just the faintest impression of part of the record – see photos. This is a top class cover, that complements a top class record. An amazing cover, fully deserving NEAR MINT grading.
