Vogue Records, also known as Sav-Way Industries, of Detroit, Michigan, released approximately seventy-four (74) different 10" picture discs from 1946 until they went into receivership in 1947. The content of the discs were all basically fairy tales or stories with romantic themes. Some of the releases apparently had some music. Many didn't.
These 10" picture discs are now highly sought after by picture disc collectors and enthusiasts as all seventy-four (74) pressings are apparently still available if you look hard enough. They are very study and attractive 10 inch picture discs. According to my research, they were were made with high quality enjoyed very little surface noise.
Either side of this disc would look great displayed on a children's bedroom wall or a library. This particular pressing did not have a sleeve when I bought it. Since I purchased it, I have kept it safely stored in a plasticized paper sleeve. I have never played this vinyl pressing as I don't have a record player anymore that plays 78's. I have always enjoyed looking at it as it is one of the most unusual picture discs I have ever had the fortune to own. Both pictures are pretty incredible. I believe these disc were the first picture discs of any kind released in the United States.
The number of this particular pressing, with two stories, one on each side, are called The Boy Who Cried Wolf- Part II, and "The Trial of "Bumble", the Bee- Part II, is R-746. There is also a P-81 before the Sav-Way Industries address printed on side two of the disc.
