Fifth Dimension MONO LP ORIGINAL PRESSING LP
This week's listings will consist of a batch of tough to find LP's. All the vinyl looks very near unplayed. The covers did wear over the decades, however. Be sure to have a look at all the listings.
The vinyl on this copy is astonishing. If you're a discerning collector like myself, you know not to use the term, "Mint." You also know that the only records that are deserving of the term, "Near Mint" are flawless from human handling AND free of manufacturer's defects. We're all aware of sellers who allow light scratches (and even moderate to heavy ones) within their definitions of "Near Mint" because they simply look beyond them. Not this collector, and not this copy. The vinyl on this LP is a pedantic Near Mint copy. If you could take a bus back to July, 1966 and purchase your original mono copy of this LP, the condition of your LP before you open it is the condition this copy is in. The only evidence that this album has been played is that there are two or three extremely light spindle marks on the labels. That's IT.
The cover isn't bad at all. Given The Byrds' penchant for releasing albums with dark covers, the ringwear on this cover is only light to moderate. The back cover is quite the same. The white slick has lost its luster over 51 years, but the wear is light to moderate. There is some foxing around the borders as well as some yellowing. All three seams are completely intact and strong. The spine text is very legible. The heaviest wear to the seams has occured on the bottom seam, and it's only moderate. The other seams are far better, but they do have light wear.
The inner sleeve is the plastic baggie originally issued with Columbia albums at that time. A paper sleeve will be supplied in addition to the baggie. The album will ship in the paper sleeve outside of the album cover.
The labels are handsome, bright and completely free from wear, dirt or writing. Each label has very few and very light spindle marks. Besides those, the labels are as fresh as the day this album was issued.
The album sounds completely new.
