The Chirping Crickets by The Chirping Crickets!
Catalogue number: LVA 9081.
Original vinyl release on the Vogue Coral label.
I believe this was released in 1958 as it has a date in the bottom right corner on the back sleeve as can be seen in one of the close up pics.
The outer sleeve itself does have a fair amount of wear as can be expected. Some scuffs front and back and a little bit of the laminate is coming loose on the front open edge, where my finger shows.
Please study the photos carefully as I’ve tried to highlight any issues. However, considering it’s now 66 years old, it’s not too bad.
The inner paper sleeve is the original and is in excellent condition.
The record is generally in excellent condition.
Side 1 has a few tiny surface marks but they are very light. More like scuffs.
** Side 2 however has a tiny section on track 2 which looks like the needle was jarred while playing or something fell on it. I have tried to show in the zoomed in photos (last ones) so I don’t believe track 2 will play.
The rest of side 2 has no issues.
Unfortunately I don’t have a record player to check if it will play OK, hence low price.
This record belonged to my father who passed away last year. He would have been 17 in 1958 so I believe
he would have purchased this new when it was released.
It has been stored in a plastic protector for many years, which I will post it in.
