 I use the record collector grading system of Bad / Poor / Good (G) / Very Good / Excellent / Mint.
Please see below for grading details.
I also use a + or a - for grades that I consider slightly better or worse.
A VG disc on this site will not be is nasty condition like many sellers.
All records are sent out in plastic covers.
THE CURE.
THE CATERPILLAR / HAPPY THE MAN.
ORIGINAL FICTION UK 1984 PICTURE DISC 7" SINGLE.
The Record / VG+ condition. A nice clean visual example that was not played very much. The disc has a small warp when on a turntable as many picture discs do. This warp is not big, I graded as VG+ condition and not EX to cover this. The record plays with a little surface crackle under the music that is also common with picture discs. This is a very rare record nowadays. The only other example for sale on Ebay is listed at £180.00. Another example sold for £130.00 in June. I think my price is realistic.
The Cover / VG+ condition.  A nice example with no side splits. The printed PVC cover has just some light age storage wear. I have put the record in a new paper cover to save the PVC from damage when in the post. .................................................................................
I USE THE UK GRADING SYSTEM BELOW.
Mint - as new and in perfect condition.
Excellent - A real nice example with light wear only. An EX disc will play great and the cover will be very nice too.
Very Good - The disc will have light surface wear and some light marks. The record will still play very well but may have some surface sound and a little crackle as this is graded as VG. The cover will have some creasing and storage age wear.  The disc and cover will have no very serious faults. A VG disc and cover will also not be perfect!
Good / G condition - The disc will have very visible surface wear and light marks with some deeper marks. The cover will show much age wear and will not be the best example! The record will still play but will have surface sound and ticks etc.
Fair - This will be a tatty example of both disc and cover. The record will play with surface sound and noise. The cover will look tatty from age and storage wear.
Bad / Poor -This will be a badly worn example of both record and cover. The disc may jump or play with much surface sound. I would rarely sell an item like this.
