Description

Selected titles from the private collection of a music business veteran are now being made available for the first time. Titles offered by this Seller are one-owner and came directly from the pressing plant, record company warehouse, other label reps or record store unless otherwise noted. 

Album ships in a 2 MIL poly cover sleeve.

  • The Cars' debut album was an instant hit and the rest is history. Pooh-poohed by the critics (some BS about electronic rock) FM radio and the fans loved them. So did the Seller. He tells the story of Ben Orr's wife working in WB's Boston warehouse and bringing in this tape of Ben's band. WB passed but Elektra didn't. Win some, lose some.
  • Check out the songs on this LP. Six of the nine tracks got heavy FM play. This album only got to #18 on Billboard. This bad boy has now sold more than 6 million copies. Scoreboard Baby!
  • This First Pressing White Label Promo has spindle marks but no playing surface blemishes.
  • The matrix is A1 & B1.
  • The one piece board cover has a promo sticker upper left. It has tight seams and shows shelf and storage wear.
  • The paper inner sleeve has photos, credits and lyrics.
  • Obviously, Seller could hardly wait to get a copy of this from the Elektra Boston PR guy when it was released.
