This historic 10 inch shellac 78 RPM record features the legendary pioneering country group The Carter Family performing their famous train wreck ballad Engine One-Forty-Three. Released in 1929 on the prestigious Victor Talking Machine Co. gold scroll label under catalog number V-40089, this Orthophonic Recording is a cornerstone artifact of early American old-time folk music. Credited to A. P. Carter, the performance features their foundational vocal harmonies, Maybelle Carter's iconic guitar work, and traditional auto-harp accompaniment. The record features their classic interpretation of I'm Thinking Tonight of My Blue Eyes on the reverse side.
