Description
I found this acetate in a box of records I purchased at auction. Appears to have handwritten lyrics on the sleeve with some words crossed out. To the best of my knowledge all of these tracks are unreleased material. This is not the famous female Chantels doo-wop group with Arlene Smith, but most likely an early 60's east-coast group with the same name. The attached video is the only track with lyrics, the other 5 tracks are all instrumentals. Some are slower and some are more fast-paced with a bit of guitar solo work. A very surf rock type of sound, sort of similar to the Ventures in my opinion.
Record has significant scratches throughout but none that are deep enough to feel. When I play tested it there was crackle and some pops but no skips. I only briefly played through it once as to not damage the acetate any further. I did this to confirm it was not the Arlene Smith Chantels and to provide a video in the listing. Please see all photos.
