Description
You are bidding on 'The Charlatans' - 'The Only One I Know' 12'' single signed by four members of the band. It is autographed in gold pen on the front by Tim Burgess, Rob Collins (who passed away in 1996), Jon Brookes and Jon Day AKA John Baker.
John Baker (lead guitarist) doesn't appear on the songwriting credits on the single, instead his name appears as Jon Day (a reference to Martin Blunts favourite band 'The Prisoners') see photo on listing. John Baker has autographed Jon Day on the front instead of his real name. John Baker left the group after a nervous breakdown early 1991 to be replaced by Mark Collins (present guitarist).
In excellent condition, the record doesn't look like its been played! On the run-out groove on side one is inscribed 'Theres no message, just pure politics'. On the run-out groove on side two is inscribed
'The Exchange, good aren't we' with 2 attempts to spell 'aren't'!! Bands like The Charlatans and The Inspiral Carpets used to scratch messages into the run out grooves of their 12 inches, check yours now if you didnt know that! This is a must for any serious Charlatans collector!! Happy Bidding!!
