Description
Original Laminated box set of Ma Fleur by The Cinematic Orchestra from 2007. Beautifully packaged with 11 photographic art prints to accompany each of the songs and 2 x heavyweight vinyl LPs.
Vinyl is perfect and whole package is in mint condition with shrink wrapping still in placed (although not sealed)
As for the music it's a lush combination of jazz / electroinc /classical /folk /downtempo but then you probably already know that.....I think the BBC review captures it nicely.....
It?s all encapsulated in the spine-tingling moment when Fontella Bass sings, ?Swallows me, into the deep? on Breathe. It?s not just the recurrent meditations on mortality that makes Ma Fleur even more heart-rendingly beautiful than 2002?s Everyday, it?s also how The Cinematic Orchestra?s new album actually feels. For as you?re slowly engulfed by the strings and dark undercurrents it seems less like a suite of music penned for an intended forthcoming film than it does the soundtrack to a lifetime of both love and regret passing before your eyes.
