The Clash Sandinista! -Japenese 1981 orig 1st press w OBI & INSERT book, VG+/VG+

The Clash - Sandinista!  This is the original 1981 first official Japanese pressing (there was a promo version released in 1980) by Epic, catalog numbers 49*3P-253~255 and/or 49*3P-253~5.  This is a triple LP, released 21 Jan 1981, has three discs numbered for sides 1-2, 3-4, 5-6.  The subject copy includes the original obi and 12-page insert book (both excellent condition) titled "The Armagideon Times no3".The Japanese translations offer some interesting alternative track names such as (A6) Something About England = 'Old England', (C1) Lightning Strikes = 'Lightning Strikes (A Flash Of Lightning! Direct Hit On Old New York!', (C2) Up In Heaven = 'Tower of London', (D3) The Equaliser = 'Equality', (D5) Washington Bullets = 'Sandinista! (Washington Bullets)', (E2) Charlie Don't Surf = 'Charlie Don't Surf (Napalm Star)' and (F1) Version City = 'Version City Train'.Overall the sleeve is in VG+ condition.  Spine/seams are strong, intact and have almost no edgewear beyond some dings along the top.  Color and gloss retention is excellent on both front and back.  Corners are all are dinged but retain their shape with point.  The original obi is in very clean condition with only a couple small wrinkles and an intact strong seal.  The front upper right corner is perhaps the largest deficiency with an ~9-10cm crease on the front that is not present on the back and another ~6.5cm crease coming from the top down to the right diagonally for about 6.5cm, again not present on back.  There is minor ring wear from about the "10 o'clock" to "2 o'clock" front cover.  The back cover has minor ring wear around the "12 o'clock" position that is visible to the naked eye and very minor superficial ring wear from about the "8 o'clock" to "1 o'clock" position when viewed in light at an angle.  The original 12-page insert "The Armagideon Times no3" is included and in excellent condition with sharp corners, no creases and really no wrinkles; its only real deficiency is some discoloration from aging (like one would see on a newspaper).  The original inner anti-static sleeves are included but I have put each disc in a new audiophile sleeve and will ship in those with the original sleeves inside the cover with the insert.  Sleeve will ship in a thick (>3 mil) protective outer sleeve cover.All three discs' vinyl looks perfect visually to the naked eye and all 6 labels are pristine and flat, devoid of markings or wrinkles/scratches, basically like they're straight out of the shrink wrap.  All three discs have been hand cleaned/inspected, ultrasonically cleaned and hand clean finished again afterwards.  Disc 1 shows some minor hairlines/surface marks on both sides under direct bright lighting, but nothing that impacts play or is of concern.  Disc 2 under direct bright light shows very light minor hairlines/surface marks on side 3 and minor surface markings/hairlines on side 4, again none of which impact playback.  Disc 3 shows just a few very minor surface marks/hairlines on each side when inspected under direct bright light.  Disc 1, Side 1 plays Strong VG+ (my highest grade for used vinyl) with no issues at all.  Disc 1, Side 2 plays Strong VG+ with no issues.  Disc 2, Side 3 plays VG+ with maybe a little crackle for a few seconds near the beginning of the side.  Disc 2, Side 4 plays Strong VG+ with no issues.  Disc 3, Side 5 plays VG+ with just a slight crackle in between E3-E4 and another slight crackle plus pop in between E5-E6 (gone before E6 plays).  Disc 3, Side 6 plays VG+ with a slight crackle into the beginning of F1 and between F1-F2 but not during the music.  Overall the three discs are rated VG+ based on their collective and individual play testing grades.Domestic shipping is priced to include insurance on top of the media mail shipping price.  If the actual cost is materially lower, I'll refund a few dollars to be fair.  My cost of shipping is a little higher than typical media mail cost because of the insurance (adding $100-150 insurance to media mail costs about $4-5) and I use a lot of expensive cleaning items, ship in audiophile sleeves and thick protective outer plastic among other things like tape/supplies, all of which cost money and ensure you receive the highest quality product possible that is protected from damage during transit -- it is not a profit center for me.Thank you for looking at/reading this listing; I appreciate your potential interest!   Any questions or additional information needed, please just ask.
