The Clientele were formed in London in the summer of 1997 from a love of Surrealism, Galaxie 500, Paul Auster, Kafka, Phil Spector, Cardinal, Felt, the Left Banke, Joseph Cornell, The Beach Boys and Arthur Lee¹s Love. They have made a super 8 film and released five 7"" singles and one EP on a variety of labels including Fierce Panda, March, Elefant, Johnny Kane and Pointy Records.
